Hi my name is Lynne Marie Vokatis and I am starting a fresh new adventure in writing. This is going to be my reading and book blog. First I’ll start by telling you alittle about myself . I’m single and dating a wonderful man ,have a beautiful rescue/adopted black lab/shorthair pointer mix Daisy we’re not quite sure how old she is about nine this year.Eleven years ago someone dropped off a bedraggled ball of kitten that is Lizzie possibly a Maine coon . I like to think so because I love all thing Maine. I am a professional fine artist working primararily in pastel .i love the ocean and there is no place where I am happier . I love gardening and of course reading. I have been painting and reading since I was a child . There was no better gift than a book and house was filled with The Little Golden Books. All my earliest books were all about animals . In 2015 I had a car accident and suffered quite a few injuries. It took time and rest for my body to heal . But I suffered from some post concussion head injury,traumatic brain disorder vision issues mainly convergence insuffiecy . I had difficulty reading and many changes in prescriptions and treatments of biofeedfeedback to treat all of these things. One thing that really saved me was Audible.com I spent hours resting from the beginning listening to books . I couldn’t focus on the television everything was doubled . The glasses with prismatic correction and colored cling pages from the Irlen Institute helped to point but I couldn’t spend more than ten minutes on the computer or reading a book or magazine . Through my vision therapist we tried a special colored lamp I still through at night and converge strings with beads to help focus . It still takes a toll on my eyes to read an type and they get tired . But with the technology and vision treatments things have really improved . But I really got to enjoy Audible.com I found some narrators I really fell in love with. I will get to as I start blogging . I read everything from Art related books,history,historical romance, contemporary fiction. Ect. I will have to break everything into categories. I am on Goodreads ,Facebook and Instagram . This is going to be fun and different for me and help me work on writing skills. Lynne

    I was going to start another book and a whole different review but after reading this book and attending funeral services for s dear friend who lost her husband to brain cancer I changed my mind .     Everyone one of us of a certain age remembers 9/11 in a different way . I was getting ready for work and my mother called and said to turn on the television and I watched the second plane crash . I said I was running late for work and I would call her and keep the news on and not to be scared .When I went to to work everyone seemed oddly calm ,we are about three hours away from the city . The radio was on quietly . I was a NYS Licensed Optician at the the time and actually fitted a woman who’s uncle was working in the Pentagon . No one had cell phone service . She was calm though getting fitted for glasses talking quietly . They sent us home at one o’clock not saying why . We thought maybe Albany was at risk but later found out we lost many people that day in...

How Cornwall all Started

Photo courtesy UK Times I’ve been I have been wanting to write this blog for a long time . It took me awhile to gather my materials and reread Summer in February again by Jonathan Smith. This blog is going to be like a six degrees of sepaparation crazy connection leading to how I got to my love of Cornwall. The only way to start this , and I should have included a Downton Abbey photo . But I had so many photos already and I wanted to write ! Well of course all Downton fans loved Daniel Stevens who played Matthew . When I saw he was in this film Summer in February I had to have it ! of course at the time it was only available on Amazon UK and not in US . I purchased a Sony DVD player that would play region 1 and 2 DVD’s . So now I could get foreign films ! In glee I ordered the film and the book .
