Open the door today and my blog is going to be about one of my favorite authors ,LizFenwick I mentioned in my first blog post that I had always been a reader. When I decided to write a book blog I was overcome with the initial excitement then the crushing weight of all those years of books came tumbling down. Where to start ? I got thinking of the books I donated  ,on my kindle,on Audible.com ,books in totes and books on my books shelves. I took down a pile of books to take a photo for World Book Day the other day and looked athe array of books and how eclectic my reading style is and impossible this is going to be ! So I said I’m just going to start anew with someone who has come to mean much to me as an author Liz Fenwick . Previously from watching Downton Abey and who didn’t fall in love with Mathew ? , I came across a book called Summer in February ,which led to the movie and will lead to another completely different blog post . But it introduced me to Cornwall . When I purchased Summer in February a book came up in my reccomandations called The Cornish House . I read the description and I thought I might like it . Thank you AmazonUK ! What happened was I ended up buying all the books that were available at the time on AmazonUK and friended and Followed Liz Fenwick on Goodreads and Facebook and Instagram social media is such a lovely thing . All her books are extremely well written you feel like you are in the book and time and interaction with the characters .they have such an easy flow her writing has the flow of water ,mystery, romance, history atmosphere and really any age group can read them beacause they are not explicit which is refreshing in this day and age . Remember me growing up with Barbara Cartland . I will put her on my bookshelves when I eventually make bookshelves here with Lucinda Riley , Kate Morton,Susanna Kiersley,Rachel Hore ,Katherine Webb,Belinda Alexandra, just a few of of my favorite women writers . There’s so many many more . But these seem to fit in a genre .

Now to The Cornish House
I loved this book so much it’s was an easy comfortable book to read and I passed it on to my mother who’s now also read all of Liz’s books and said she wants a sequel to the Cornish House , she wants the story to keep going on ! I do too ! I read a lot of reviews about the book before I decided to write mine . I wanted to think and gather my thoughts as I am a beginning writer . What I liked that it was comfortable for me to read . It was an easy read for a first novel and I thought it was charming . There were so many negative remarks about Hannah but if you’re going to write about a spoiled teenager who’s just lost her father, hates her stepmother,is uprooted from her home ,breaks down on their way to their new home wouldn’t you act out too .? She’s very well written and well if it goes on a bit well angst doesn’t go away in a day .The same for Maddie the poor woman is utterly freaky frazzled and probably wondering if she has bitten off more than she can chew ,which as an American we do daily . I can’t imagine that house ! I would die for it . As the story moves along the description of people ,scenery ,atmosphere, relationships all slowly builds . Maybe it’s alittle too slow for some people who like a frantic read but this is a curl up with your cat or dog or both . A cup of tea or coffe depending how late you want to stay up . I found with extreme searching an audio cd to listen to. Sometimes I have problems with my vision and I listen to books and I loved listening to The Cornish House. I highly recommend it  with five stars for all Liz’ s books and and she has a new book out next week on AmazonUK !  The only novella I don’t have Is Cornish Christmas Carol and I Hope AudibleUS or Amazon US reads this and adds it  so I can finish my collection as it’s only an ebook .
